I have been having some neck problems recently that were unable to be resolved using the more conservative methods including physical therapy, meds etc. After a trip to the neuro surgeon, a disturbing MRI and pain that just got worse with numbness and tingling down my arm into my fingers I decided to have surgery.
I scheduled the following week from my MD visit but woke up in such discomfort the next day that I decided waiting a week was not happening. So when do we do it? THE NEXT DAY!!! Yep folks. That fast. I made the best decision and very glad I did it. I spent one night and went home the following afternoon. It was great experience with immediate pain relief. YAY! The post op pain was not that bad either. I think the collar that I have to wear for 7 days is the most uncomfortable thing about it.
This is what the collar looks like (not me in the picture). She looks rather pretty for being sooo uncomfortable? LOL
The nursing staff had to slow me down, I was feeling a little TOO good. I get rid of the collar for good tomorrow and get to drive also.
I must say in times like these my hubby really pulls through. He is pretty good caretaker for short periods and takes great care of the kids. I can't pick them up for a few weeks so I am limited what I can do with them. We are really good at sitting on the floor for hugs and kisses. These two little tots did not want anything to do with me in the hospital. There were terrified of me and all my gear. They are over it now and Reed has been asking a ton of questions. So much that I have goggled my procedure and explained it to him verbally and visually. He still is asking different questions every day and likes me better without the collar!
Recovery is coming along nicely! Thanks to all for the kind comments, food and visitors!
